Carlo Ratti is an Italian architect, engineer, inventor and educator. In 2002 established the design office Carlo Ratti Associati in Torino, Italy. In 2004, he established the MIT Senseable City Lab, an MIT research group that explores the «real-time city» by studying the increasing deployment of sensors and hand-held electronics, and their relationship to the built environment.
