Foresight in Hindsight
Lindsay Harkema is an architect focused on interactions between humans and the built environment at various scales. She completed a bachelor’s degree in architecture at Washington University, and a master's in architecture at Rice University. In her thesis she explored extraterritoriality as a spatial and social symptom of globalisation and urbanisation, travelling to Hong Kong, India, Dubai, Istanbul and Amsterdam to research case studies. After graduation, Lindsay joined Leeser Architecture in New York City, where she worked on a 10,000 square-meter greenhouse in Abu Dhabi, the renovation and extension of the Museum of the Moving Image, and Brooklyn’s Strand Theatre.
