The protagonist of the film, a teenage boy named Billy, transfers to an extremely conservative, elite school. His outrageous outfits, matching the looks of Lady Gaga or David Bowie, and defiant behavior, are not understood by his classmates. Over time, dislike turns into real bullying. In response, Billy, determined to fight for his uniqueness, making himself up with a dense layer of glamour, decides to participate in the School Queen contest.
The film was selected for screening at the Karlovy Vary Festival in 2017 as part of the ‘Another View’ programme, and in the same year was nominated for a prize in two sections of the Berlin Film Festival, 'Best First Feature' and 'Generation 14plus'.
