The Hyper-connected master class focuses on games theory, game design and the aesthetics of gamification. Apart from the main aspects of gamification (its dynamics, mechanics and social interaction), participants in the master class will investigate different approaches to environmental and technological interplay. Much attention will be paid to communication between researchers, technical experts and multimedia artists with regards to gamification.

Thorsten S. Wiedemann – founder and director of A MAZE. He produces under this label festivals, exhibitions and workshops on the intersection of games and art. With "A MAZE. / Berlin" and "A MAZE. / Johannesburg" he created two annual and international festivals to present independent game culture, playful media. He creates platforms and gives room for experimentation, collaboration and exchange. Thorsten established since 2012 the A MAZE. Awards, which goes to unique and artistic games in four categories. His focus is on the interdisciplinary discourse and in filling the gaps between games, art and technology. Currently he lives and works in Berlin.
The workshop is organized within the interdisciplinary programme of the Polytechnic Museum Polytech.Science.Art in association with Strelka Institute and supported by innovation partner 'Megafon'. All events of the program are dedicated to one of the most significant phenomenon of contemporary culture – interdisciplinary collaboration between artists, scientists and technology specialists. The program starts in 2014 with a series of workshops and lectures of international and Russian experts, artists, researchers, including influential representatives of science art, the experts acknowledged by international scientific community and granted with numerous awards and prizes, as well as young professionals. Many of them will present their projects in Russia for the first time.
