A young German confectioner named Thomas and a married Israeli man named Oren met in Berlin and fall in love. They have kept the love affair a secret. When one of the lovers dies in a car accident in Israel, Thomas decides to visit his family to find out what happened. He moves to Israel and takes a job in a small cafe owned by Oren's wife without revealing his true story. The action moves between Berlin and Jerusalem, between the east and west, the past and the present. A conflict between religion and secularism makes the protagonist doubt his choice and look differently at his love experience, and working in the confectionery becomes a way to reconcile with reality.
