Contemporary museums not only preserve history, but generate new meanings. As an element of an urban centrifugal force, museums can change not only the cultural, but also the physical landscape around them.

Discussion participants will speak about museums that educate citizens, spaces that become an accessible medium, and the complexes around which city life develops.

The discussion will consist of three panels:

The museum as school

The museum as an element of a centrifugal force

— Eric Shiner, senior vice president of Sotheby’s auction house, former director of the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh
— Katya Bochavar, painter, architect, and curator of the GRUND exhibition project

The museum as an accessible environment
