According to Burton Rast, UX designer and educator, artificial intelligence is designed to efficiently serve people and protect their right to privacy. Rast believes that developers should apply a human-centered approach not only to product design, but also to user experience design. In the meantime, users should also come to the realization that their digital behavior has a direct impact on how AI-based technologies are developed.
Is the developer accountable to users or the project? Can artificial intelligence help a real person, not the corporation behind it? During his lecture at Strelka, Burton Rast will explore whether it's possible to create digital products designed to protect user data.
Burton Rast is an author, educator, mentor, and former art director at IDEO, a global design company. Today he is a UX design lead at Google.
The lecture is being organized with the support of OFFF.Moscow design festival and Skillbox online university.
The lecture will be held in English, with simultaneous interpretation into Russian. Receivers will be issued in exchange for an ID.
