THE NEW NORMAL
Holly Childs is an Australian artist and writer working in and against contemporary literature, exploring relationships of systems and language through fictions, performance, poetry, and readings. Her most recent work, an evolving performance series made in collaboration with J. G. Biberkopf, is Hydrangea, a myth about myths, in which flowers are stories, and forests contain never-ending branching narratives. In Hydrangea, plotlines mutate, and realities fork; some bear the weight of new blooms of stories, while others fade out, creating ground for further stories. Other recent works include UVG, a poem that changes each time it is performed, coded with Linda Dement for Angela Goh's choreographic work Uncanny Valley Girl (2017-2019), and Have the Dusk Deepen, a publication for SOd (2018) and a performance for Rogue Agents curated by Auto Italia, at Firstdraft, Sydney (2017).
