Maria Zhurkina is an engineer-architect, designer and fan of wooden architecture. She participated in conferences and wrote articles on modern wooden constructions, took first place in the All-Russian competition «New Russian house». In the last years of studies Maria practice conceptual design in the NGO «Mostovik», then she continued her professional career in India as architect and structures designer. She took part in architectural projects in Auroville and wrote thesis on «Design of buildings and structures made of renewable materials».
Also Maria participated in the development projects of Omsk historic centre. She became interested in the study of social activity of citizens and local communities, which led her to Strelka Institute.
