Design As Enabler Of Public Space

To identify the problems that plague Moscow's public space, this project first breaks down that space to its various elements: benches, fences, trees, etc. Among the problems discovered are a dearth of greenery, unnecessary complications in pedestrian pathways, and the persistent prioritizing of consumer demands over social needs. The catalogue of the observed elements acts as an open source tool kit, allowing users to improve current conditions or create new designs based on existing patterns Download PDF
