Rachel Inman. How to create an effective user experience (Workshops)

A two-day workshop on marrying micro-interactions to macro product vision by Google designer Rachel Inman

24.10.15 – 25.10.15

As UX designers, we can get mired in the details of interfaces we design—failing to step back and look at the whole system. Rather than relying on plug and play elements like buttons and carousels, can we design whole experiences, as our job title suggests? In this two-day workshop, you’ll learn how to reimagine existing experiences, making them whole, rather than comprised of disparate UI pieces. In small teams, you’ll work together to redesign an existing product experience around key states, user context, and timely information. The final day of the workshop will include presentations from each team.

What you’ll leave with: A framework for thinking about UX design in a holistic system appropriate for product type and user context. A final completed design exercise using this framework.

Who can attend: This workshop is geared toward UX designers, however those in related fields such as UI/visual designers, front-end engineers, and product managers, are welcome to attend.
