Nowadays cities composing the network of social, physical and communication ecosystems require a new approach to the creation of planning strategies and decisions. At the same time tools, technologies and methods of cities' planning and design are changing dramatically. The lecture of the GSS's tutors will cover the latest research on urban planning, architecture, parametric design, digital fabrication and other modern technologies and methods and it will introduce the programme's structure and topics of the GSS-Moscow 2016.

The Global Summer School is a platform defined by ambitious, multi-scalar investigation on the implications of emergent techniques in our planned environments. Each year, international teams located in key cities around the globe explore a common agenda with projects that are deeply embedded in diverse local conditions. This year the GSS takes place in 7 different cities around the world: Barcelona, New York City, Monterrey, Moscow, Tehran, Mumbai, Beirut, Beijing.
